Mexican Moonshine Silver

M.A. “Mike” Morales and Alexander Perez taste and discuss Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine Blanco Tequila.

It’s surreal, sublime, man made and divine. It’s Roger Clyne’s border-bridging, award winning spirit; both roguish and refined, it is an ultra-premium 100% Blue Agave tequila, crafted in a tradition of integrity, authenticity, conscience and celebration.

For more than 15 years, Roger Clyne has been delivering pure rock-n-roll, first as part of the Tempe-based seminal quartet The Refreshments in the mid-90s, followed by his current band, considered by some the best live band in America, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. Now Roger is also delivering his own brand of ultra-premium 100% Blue Agave tequila called Mexican Moonshine Tequila. In 2011, Mexican Moonshine Reposado received a “Best of the Best” award from TEQUILA.net. In 2013 at the Spirits of Mexico competiton, the Silver marque won a Silver Medal while the Reposado and Añejo both took home Gold Medals.

Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers

Part 1:Falling Under the Spell of Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine

On a frigid and damp Saturday night in November 2013, Roger Clyne, along with his band The Peacemakers, invited Tequila Aficionado Media to an intimate concert and tequila tasting atBilly’s Ice House in New Braunfels, TX, to talk music, heritage, and his tequila, Mexican Moonshine.  Read more…

Part II: Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine: Tequila With Intention

Shivering in the cold outside the Peacemakers’eco-friendly tour bus, I recalled a conversation that I had had earlier with my good friend, Jason Silverman, Agave Beverage Manager at the famous Agave Bar & Restaurant in New York City.  He’d met Roger a few weeks earlier during the band’s New York swing and remarked that he was one of the coolest and most down-to-earth guys in the music and tequila business.  Read more…

The secret behind making fine tequila has been handed down to us generation after generation since 1870. We are proud to belong to one of most prestigious tequila lineages, the Romo de la Peña family, responsible for producing some of the most renowned brands in the world.

“Huizache is an iconic shrub of the tequila landscape. It grows alongside the agave plants and is their lifelong companion. The prickly stalks contrast with their delicate yellow flowers, mirroring the complexity of the Mexican character.

Huizache Reposado

Golden-amber, luminous, and full of character. Aged in white oak barrels, it draws upon notes of vanilla and spices to complement the flavour of high quality cooked agave.
It is exclusively produced with the finest Tequilana Weber blue variety, hand-picked and harvested only when they have reached their optimal maturity. Savour this medium-bodied tequila on its own, with the company of family and friends.

Monday Madness: Did He Say “Weenie”?

Oh, no…he didn’t!

Monday Madness

Monday Madness was created as a blooper by-product of our production process for the Tequila Aficionado exclusive video program, Sipping off the Cuff. When M.A. “Mike” Morales and Alexander “Alex” Perez get together, whether in person or via Skype, to review tequilas for Sipping off the Cuff, something silly is bound to happen.  Rather than present these clips with their reviews, we chose to respect serious viewers’ time and get right to business with each SOTC episode to keep them at ten minutes or less.  The outtakes are often funny and show our silly side, so we chose to share them with you for your amusement, as well as ours, in our Monday Madness video feature.  Monday Madness is the evidence of how very much fun we have doing what we love here at Tequila Aficionado Media.

Sipping off the Cuff

Sipping off the Cuff™ began as an audio podcast in 2006 and is Tequila Aficionado’s first and longest running tequila review program. Sipping off the Cuff is broadcast every Friday (and occasionally Tuesdays) on YouTube and TequilaAficionado.com. If you are a Tequila, Mezcal or Sotol brand owner and would like yourproduct(s) reviewed on an upcoming episode of Sipping off the Cuff, please contact Mike@TequilaAficionado.com.  Click here to see all of our Sipping off the Cuff™ programming.
