Alacrán Tequila was born as a project among a circle of friends in Mexico City that grew tired of the classic taste and aroma of the existing tequila. A.T.A. is a premium white tequila made of 100% Blue Agave, encased in an urban looking bottle that compliments its innovative taste, the shape inspired by a canteen crossed with a liquor flask is soft to the touch black matte finish. A.T.A.’s image, the Scorpion, is inspired by a highly adaptive predator. Its sting may be deadly and it inspires respect.
Alacrán Tequila uses a selective column distillation process, which allows the makers to choose and precisely determine the tequila they want, highlighting its pure taste and fair aroma.
CEO Ernesto Iberra Henkel states “We are ready to share this product that we believe is of superior quality, and we are doing it in New York, the city that prides itself in the very best.”
On February 8th, 2011, Autentico Tequila Alacran was launched in New York and BlackBook’s Steve Lewis was there to enjoy what seemed to be a regular launch cocktail but he was taken by surprise. Steve Lewis writes “A party I attended at Provocateur for Auténtico Tequila Alacrán had me sipping the stuff. As everyone knows, I only get drunk 2 or 3 times a year. It wasn’t like any tequila I’ve ever met before. It was clean, smooth, and had a subtle taste.”
A.T.A. is a proud recipient of the 2010 Prestigious Platinum Sip Award and the WSWA 68th Annual & Expositions Silver Medal.
